technical side of the picture.
In her
series Mare Magnum and In Honor of the Shadows, she explores the tranquility of

MICHAEL SCHNABEL
Rejecting the stereotypical approach to photographing sublime mountain ranges in the light of day, Michael Schnabel pointed his lens towards the snowy peaks of the Alps at night and he found the tranquility that the Alps lack during the day.
"Photographing the Alps under the dark skies was a creative process that developed over a number of years. Exposure times were about an hour. Focusing and even framing the image through the ground glass was another issue, as there was precious little to see under the low light conditions. This contributed to the fact that many of the exposures didn’t make the final selection. "Michael Schnabel’s series was selected as a Finalist for the LensCulture Art Photography Awards 2019.

mostly enjoys shooting anything that has to do with mother nature. For her,
being out and exploring is the best part of photography. The drive to get out
of her comfort zone is what has led her to progress the most in her work.

MATT OWEN-HUGHES
One of the things he has enjoyed the most
practicing landscape photography have been the trips… “Every trip I’ve been on
has taught me more about techniques and compositions, as different landscapes
require different approaches that you may not be used to”. Seeing new and
different parts of the world has always been a passion of him. He feels that there comes a peace with being in a wilderness that
completely drawfs him every time he photographs landscapes such as the Swiss
Alps or Scottish Highlands. When it comes to his editing style that’s an combination
of different artists that have inspired him. Everyone’s influenced by someone he admits. "Scotland is where I really cut my teeth
and honed my style. I wouldn’t be half the photographer I am if I hadn’t
travelled up there!"
